Organizing has always been one of Nikki’s skills, but not something she saw as a career. One day after organizing her husband’s items, without his permission, he said “Hey, you know they pay people to do this right? You don’t have to keep organizing my stuff!”
In an attempt to prove him wrong Nikki began scouring the internet, only to find out that he was right. Excited by her discovery, she immediately started researching and reading about how to become an organizer.
Once she decided that this was something she wanted to do, she joined the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), now National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals, to continue her education.
In search of her business name, Nikki enlisted her mother's help. During their brainstorming session, Nikki’s mother asked her to describe what she does for her clients.
Nikki explained that she and the client work together and make decisions on the client’s space and belongings. No magic wand, just us working together. With excitement her mother said, “That’s it, that’s your name, Just Us Organizing” and the rest is HERstory.
