• Stick to a budget. Make a list of who you need a gift for and how much you want to spend before heading to the store.

  • Keep a 6×9 envelope with you while shopping during the holiday season to store all of your receipts. This will make all exchanges and returns a lot easier.

  • Start wrapping gifts early, but wait to add ribbons and bows until you are ready to add them under the tree. Label gifts with name tags or sticky notes so that you don’t forget who gets what gift.

  • If you plan on flying to your holiday destination purchase gift cards or have a purchased gift mailed to your arrival destination.

  • If you do the cooking clean out your pantry. Get rid of expired canned goods and spices. Start buying items now for those special holiday dishes.

  • Before your gathering clean out the refrigerator if guest will be bringing food or beverages that need to be chilled. Have a cooler with ice on standby just in case you need more space.

  • Before your guest arrive relocate all items from the coat/hall closet to another room so that guest will have a place to hang theirs. Make sure you have plenty of hangers. You can also add a multiple hook over the door rack for scarves and hats.
